About the Role
The Sr. Manager, Grants is responsible for CommUnityCare's Health Center funding and operating support grants for several service lines. This position requires balancing multiple projects, proposals, and deadlines, and maintaining high awareness of the organization's internal workings to identify funding opportunities. The role supports a grant administration team and requires strategic leadership for HRSA Health Center Program funding.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership and oversight for HRSA Health Center Program funding, ensuring compliance with all program requirements.
- Supports a high-performing grants team responsible for administering over $17 million in federal, state, local, and private funding.
- Supervises, mentors, and develops Grants Management staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to leadership on grant regulations, compliance requirements, and funding opportunities.
- Sources reports from various departments to ensure timely submission of required information.
- Verifies alignment of grant expenses with grant budgets and reports.
- Acts as the primary liaison between the organization and funding agencies.
- Contributes to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of grants management policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Builds and maintains strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitors and interprets local, state, and federal regulations impacting grant funding.
- Oversees the effective utilization of grants management systems and tools.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local grant laws, rules, regulations, grant processes and procedures, as well as cost principles and uniform administrative grant requirements.
- Good analytical and presentation skills.
- Proficient in identifying opportunities and delivering results.
- High level of skill at building relationships within and outside the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Skilled at writing, planning, and strategizing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to be persuasive.
- Superior writing skills, including editing for content, style, and grammar.
- Proficiency in the use of a computer and commonly used software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimum supervision.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions in a clear, concise, and proactive manner.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work responsibilities to ensure completion of assigned tasks as scheduled.
- Preferred experience with FQHC grant processes and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
