About the Role
Improve patient health through innovative, patient-focused care. This role is dedicated to making a difference in the health and quality of life for the communities served.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous services while taking high-quality radiographs.
- Assess patient status and interpret information to identify needs and provide appropriate care.
- Achieve a minimum of a 5% repeat rate for x-ray radiographs.
- Provide fluoroscopic assistance to Radiologists, including setup, preparation of materials, and patient positioning.
- Prepare, identify, and/or administer medication as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Perform radiographic examinations according to established protocols.
- Transport patients to and from rooms when required.
- Maintain a good working relationship with Radiology students.
- Provide a safe environment for patients.
- Explain all procedures to patients and answer questions or concerns.
- Provide coverage for OR, ER, and portables in addition to fluoroscopy procedures.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels in all diagnostic Radiology rooms.
- Restock supplies within rooms.
- Clean and organize x-ray rooms after patient use.
- Perform daily checklists for safe patient care and regulatory readiness.
- Enhance professional growth through educational programs, literature, and workshops.
- Maintain competence through continuing education.
- Maintain appropriate continuing education credits to keep licensure.
- Attend necessary meetings to stay updated on departmental changes.
- Attend monthly department meetings.
- Perform similar or related duties as requested or directed.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA approved school.
- NYS temporary permit/license required.
- ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist with 180 days from date of hire required.
- NYS registered as a Radiologic Technologist within 180 days from date of hire required.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 30 days from date of hire.
