About the Role

Maintain hotel rooms and the building to ensure a safe and clean experience for guests, associates, and vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe and efficient manner to assure quality.
  • Report problem areas affecting the safety, security, and operating condition of the hotel.
  • Change bed linen daily.
  • Vacuum carpeting.
  • Dust all furniture, including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, TVs, and dressers.
  • Remove fingerprints and smudges from surfaces such as mirrors, shiny surfaces, and windows.
  • Thoroughly clean the bathroom area, including the shower stall, sink, floor, and toilet.
  • Ensure standard room setup compliance.
  • Report all damage found in a room immediately.
  • Assist in maintaining all front and back of house housekeeping areas, including the laundry room and linen closets.
  • Report all missing items and personal guest items found in vacant rooms immediately.
  • Notify the Executive Housekeeper of all rollaways or cribs in rooms for pick-up and storage.
  • Take responsibility for master floor keys and ensure they are turned in daily.
  • Turn in all 'lost and found' items to the Executive Housekeeper immediately.
  • Shut off all lights, TVs, and air conditioners when leaving a room.
  • Assist the housekeeper with any additional cleaning chores assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with workplace statutory requirements, including health and safety, fire prevention, hygiene, and handling of potentially harmful substances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hotel guests, such as announcing arrival at the door and clearly understanding guest requests.
  • Ability to use cleaning supplies, vacuum, safety equipment, and other equipment and materials used in housekeeping functions.
  • Ability to work effectively in environments with varying noise levels.
  • Ability to solve problems relating to guests, with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to display a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, providing support to co-workers when called upon.
