About the Role
Join Texas Oncology as a Part-time Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) in South Austin, supporting a clinic with Monday-Friday hours and no weekends or holidays. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen nursing expertise and deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic outpatient environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care continuity.
- Assess patient/family needs and provide educational materials.
- Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision.
- Administer medications and blood products accurately.
- Obtain pre-authorization and consent forms before therapy administration.
- Facilitate dose modification by assessing patients, labs, and consulting with physicians.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment.
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
