About the Role

HSE is seeking an experienced systems administrator with a passion for technology. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong customer service skills, an interest in IT operating systems, and a desire to support business continuity planning and testing initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance service excellence with organizational security and compliance.

Responsibilities

Identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues and implement long-term solutions
Install operating system software, patches and upgrades
Configure, optimize, fine-tune and monitor operating system software and servers
Perform system backups and recovery
Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve system hardware, software and networking issues
Lead or assist in IT infrastructure projects
Maintain accurate documentation for system configurations and procedures
Oversee IT assets and maintain accurate inventory records in accordance with state regulations
Administer system-wide configurations such as group policy and software deployment
Work within a ticketing system, document resolutions, and contribute to the IT team’s internal knowledge base
Participate and contribute to business continuity planning to create and test processes
Handle other projects as assigned by the Network Engineering Manager and Chief Information Officer
May require after-hours support in emergency situations and updates

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (preferred)
3–5 years of experience in system administration, troubleshooting, and deployment
Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, CompTIA Security+, Azure Admin) are a plus
High-level understanding of the Windows 365 platform
Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy
Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and endpoint management
Solid understanding and experience in IT security, compliance, and disaster recovery planning and testing
Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to demonstrate a service approach to internal clients
Desire and initiative to learn emerging technologies
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
