About the Role
The Site Reliability Associate (SRA) is a specialized role within software engineering focused on maintaining highly reliable and scalable software systems. SRAs execute tasks to maintain the health of applications and services, ensuring smooth and reliable operation with excellent user experience. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system performance and availability, and take actions to rectify issues identified.
- Respond promptly to incidents following predefined plans and procedures, including batch jobs, message queues, system integration components, and end-user reported incidents.
- Analyze root causes of incidents following incident response plans.
- Prevent future occurrences of incidents by fixing root causes and recovering damaged data.
- Build effective monitors and alerts to discover errors.
- Use development tools to analyze root causes of problems.
- Develop tools that monitor the ecosystem and enable self-diagnosis.
- Adopt best practices and continuously improve systems and processes to enhance reliability and performance.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Knowledge in software engineering, with proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Knowledge in system administration and managing production environments.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and logging tools to track system performance and discover errors.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams effectively.
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools is an asset.
- Subject to a Background check as a condition of employment.
- Rotational on-call schedule, with shifts during evenings and weekends.
- Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, will be required.
