About the Role
UR Medicine Thompson Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, a 5-star, not-for-profit long term care facility.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with Nurse Manager to manage daily operations.
- Performs, supervises, or assists with resident assessments and documentation.
- Performs weekly and PRN skin assessments on indicated residents.
- Assists in assuring quality care through QI Mentors, rounds, and chart reviews.
- Participates in precepting nursing personnel.
- Serves as a clinical resource to CNAs, LPNs, and other associates.
- Assists with the development of nursing and other associates.
- Monitors nursing personnel compliance with resident care plans.
- Coordinates clinical care of residents with nursing personnel.
- Assures physician orders are carried out and integrated into resident care plans.
- Continually enhances clinical knowledge in long term care and shares information.
- Responsible for creating a culture of accountability within a positive work environment.
Requirements
- NYS Licensed RN
- 2 years of long term care experience (preferred)
- Strong physical assessment skills
- Supervision experience (preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing daily demands
