About the Role

Join our DeCrescente office as a full-time Patient Support Specialist, formerly known as a Medical Secretary. The ideal candidate will possess superior customer service skills, preferably within the medical field.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients upon arrival.
  • Process incoming telephone calls and messages according to office policy.
  • Schedule patient appointments following office protocols for access to care.
  • Schedule all follow-up appointments as directed by providers or indicated on encounter forms.
  • Obtain patient signatures on appropriate waivers based on insurance requirements.
  • Organize and monitor the provider's daily schedule.
  • Maintain timely patient flow.
  • Verify and update patient insurance coverage and demographic information at each visit.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous clerical experience in a medical practice is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures is preferred.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, family members, physicians, providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
