About the Role
Dreamwear is seeking an Assistant Designer for their growing Kids team. This role involves assisting with the development of seasonal and customer-driven Kids collections across multiple brands, researching trends, and managing the sample development and production process.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the development of seasonal and customer-driven Kids collections across multiple brands.
- Research seasonal trends, colors, prints, and silhouettes to support the development of new collections.
- Work with senior team members on print, artwork, and color selection.
- Assist with flat sketching and maintain organized fabric, trim, and color libraries.
- Execute production-ready print and graphic artwork, ensuring artwork is accurately sized and prepared for production.
- Create organized and accurate technical development packages, including construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, prints, and color specifications.
- Prepare and send tech packs, sample requests, production artwork, and color standards.
- Communicate with overseas factories regarding product development and production needs.
- Track and follow up on sample development, fabric sourcing, and related deliverables.
- Partner with Design and cross-functional teams to ensure projects remain organized and on schedule.
Requirements
- Degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred.
- Previous internship or other relevant industry experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Illustrator & Photoshop is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Positive, collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Passion for fashion and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
