About the Role

The Entertainment Community Fund seeks an Activities Coordinator for The Schermerhorn to enhance resident lives through a robust weekly activities program supporting community integration, socialization, self-care, and mental health wellness. This role collaborates with social work teams and partner agencies to develop and implement activities for a special needs population.

Responsibilities

  • Assess resident interests, skills, and needs to develop therapeutic activities.
  • Maintain the current calendar of options and traditional annual events.
  • Facilitate programs with group leaders.
  • Serve as a tenant contact for community questions.
  • Support the Manager in the operations of the onsite multi-purpose performance venue.
  • Collaborate with other Entertainment Community Fund activity programs and social workers to address resident concerns.
  • Maintain and distribute a regular activities schedule.
  • Develop monthly calendars.
  • Maintain program and office supplies.
  • Source program facilitators.
  • Coordinate food and décor orders for events.
  • Arrange transportation for outings.
  • Process monthly expense reports.
  • Maintain program records.
  • Uphold current policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • One to three years demonstrated experience in activities and/or education programs.
  • Experience working with special needs populations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for several hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Required to occasionally work an adjusted schedule, which includes weekday evening or weekend hours.
