About the Role
Obtains or receives merchandise, totals bills, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in a retail store.
Responsibilities
- Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with guests and associates.
- Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
- Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise to promote sales.
- Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.
- Obtains or receives merchandise requested or selected by customers.
- Answers customer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
- Totals price and tax on merchandise to determine the bill.
- Accepts payment and makes change.
- Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
- Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.
- Removes and records the amount of cash in the register at the end of the shift.
- Calculates sales discounts to determine price.
- Keeps a record of sales, prepares inventory of stock, and orders merchandise.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the gift shop supervisor.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Work Permit.
- Requires a criminal background check.
- Must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment confirmation.
- Must be able to stand frequently.
- Must be able to occasionally climb or balance.
- Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to occasionally talk and hear.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
