About the Role
HSBC Alternatives is seeking a Manager, Alternative Investment Operations to lead the day-to-day operational oversight of Direct Asset Private Credit products. This role involves partnering with third-party administrators to ensure strong control, execution, and client outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Support the management and oversight of end-to-end investment operations for Private Credit, including transaction lifecycle management and post-trade oversight.
- Oversee transaction & trade services, including execution support, review of key legal documentation, transaction administration and investment restriction monitoring with a risk-centric approach.
- Contribute to product launches and subsequent closings, helping design operating models, establish operational infrastructure and support equalisation processes.
- Provide valuation and performance oversight, including NAV review support, hard-to-value asset inputs, income reconciliations, and calculations such as ECL/amortisation and carry/waterfalls where applicable.
- Support liquidity and treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting (calls/distributions), facility oversight (credit/overdraft), and hedging/FX operational processes.
- Manage day-to-day interactions with service providers, administrators/AIFM, and other vendors, supporting operational delivery, investor and portfolio reporting, and timely resolution while actively reviewing and challenging processes to identify inefficiencies and support implementation of improved ways of working.
Requirements
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across fund operations, financial reporting and control environments.
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency through technology, automation, process improvements and system enhancements.
- Experience in identifying and implementing tech-enabled solutions to strengthen controls and improve scalability.
- Experience overseeing third-party administrators and managing key service provider relationships is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to navigate complex situations involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, combined with a proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
Skills
- Knowledge of fund accounting systems such as Investran or similar platforms is desirable.
- Exposure to Private Credit funds and alternative investment strategies would be advantageous.
