About the Role
Accountable for the assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation during the pre operative, intra operative and post operative phases of nursing care. Assists the physician during surgery and procedures by functioning in the circulating role. Develops, implements, manages/coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.
Responsibilities
- Assessment, planning, treatment, and evaluation during pre operative, intra operative, and post operative nursing care phases.
- Assisting physicians during surgery and procedures in a circulating role.
- Developing, implementing, managing, and coordinating interdisciplinary care plans considering various patient factors.
- Fostering collaborative relationships with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers through effective communication.
- Adhering to policies, industry standards, best practices, laws, regulations, and codes for a quality patient experience.
- Engaging in continuous professional development in nursing practice.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- RN-Registered Nurse of California.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider.
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence with nursing theories, concepts, practices, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, safety precaution policies, patient care and privacy best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook) and Electronic Health Record.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established options.
- Ensuring the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).
- Building collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
- Employees may handle hazardous drugs in accordance with USP 800 guidelines.
