About the Role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is seeking a part-time Adult Education Instructor for the Ripley Branch Campus. This role involves student interaction, providing instruction, and offering registration/intake services. This is a grant-funded position.

Responsibilities

Plan, teach, and evaluate student work and provide instruction.
Deliver contextualized Integrated Education and Training (IET) programming combining adult basic skills with workforce development.
Accept responsibility and be self-motivated.
Demonstrate the ability to multi-task.
Develop and implement a recruitment plan to inform the target population of program services and attract prospective adult learners.
Assist students with resumes and job applications.
Assist with student registration, assessment, orientation/counseling.
Administer and interpret scores on HiSET and TABE exams for student placement and instruction.
Administer and interpret scores for CASAS and HiSET OPT exams for student placement and instruction.
Organize and maintain confidential program and student files and report documentation, including maintaining correct student sign-in sheets.
Work with the Leadership Team to develop a program that supports students' progression through the National Reporting System levels, ensuring level gains.
Maintain technical knowledge by engaging in opportunities to improve or increase skills.
Maintain time and effort documentation.
Work toward classroom improvement based on program goals.
Post-test all students after 40 hours of instruction.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Baccalaureate in Education or related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
Ability to learn to use other computer software.
Effective and excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
Willingness to participate in local and state activities/staff development.
Identification and employment eligibility verification required.
U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States.
Criminal and/or financial background check required.
