About the Role

We are looking for a creative and dynamic New Business Analyst. This role is ideal for someone curious, who enjoys continuous learning and applying knowledge in various scenarios. You enjoy problem-solving, analyzing complex data, and making decisions based on your analysis. A reliability clearance is required, which is a security authorization needed to access 'Protected B' information, assets, and workplaces.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate theoretical rates by manipulating data and determining proper employee category organization.
  • Adhere to pricing policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Create files and records for new submissions and forward them to the appropriate region.
  • Analyze received information to complete a submission.
  • Prepare technical results analyses for all coverages (Life, Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, Medical, and Dental) based on provided experience.
  • Calculate average rates paid.
  • Calculate premium waiver and disability reserves.
  • Review and understand results to summarize them for the underwriter.
  • Assist underwriters in the submission process.
  • Initiate process improvements and participate in projects to simplify processes or aid decision-making.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent training.
  • Bilingualism (proficiency in French and English) is required for Quebec.
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective and efficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and prioritize multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills, good judgment, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
  • Client-first mindset.
  • Willingness to work towards obtaining the Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation or the full Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation.
  • Knowledge of Group Insurance products is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Underwriting, Group Client is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel is an asset.
