About the Role
Electric Boat is seeking experienced candidates to support the execution of the test program for the Integrated Propulsion System (IPS) for the COLUMBIA Class Submarine at the Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) in Philadelphia, PA. The selected candidate will provide deck plate support for main propulsion system components during testing and collaborate with component groups to troubleshoot issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide deck plate support of main propulsion system pre-production equipment and components during testing.
- Determine the root cause of IPS cognizant issues and correct deficiencies.
- Perform surveillances of work being performed under area of cognizance.
- Act as a primary Electric Boat contact for on-site IPS component suppliers.
- Support development of IPS cognizant component group engineering directions.
- Support other locations with issue resolution of COLUMBIA specific equipment.
- Support construction activities and shipboard integration at Electric Boat manufacturing facilities.
- Gather data/information to support development of COLUMBIA IPS design and documentation improvements.
- Interface with technical and management personnel at NAVSEA, NNL, NSWC, and vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in engineering (Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Marine, Mechatronics, Computers, Chemical, materials).
- 0 – 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
Skills
- Able to work independently and adhere to strict work control requirements.
- Positive attitude and strong ability to work well with others.
- Experience using Microsoft products.
- Experience working in a high stress, high tempo environment.
- Experience working long hours.

Experience Level
- 0-5 years relevant engineering experience
- 1-5 years COLUMBIA or VA engineering experience (preferred)
- Multi-disciplinary systems engineering experience (preferred)

- Masters of Science or Engineering degree with technical background (preferred)
