About the Role
Support children and foster families across Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Westminster City Council, ensuring they have the stability and care they need to thrive through thorough assessments and crucial supervision.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality supervision and guidance to foster carers.
- Carry out high-quality assessments for mainstream fostering, private fostering, and kinship care.
- Facilitate training and support groups for foster carers.
- Conduct annual foster carer reviews.
- Maintain accurate, analytical case recordings on digital systems.
- Participate in the duty rota.
- Support recruitment events to build a diverse pool of foster carers.
- Play a key role in initiatives like the Mockingbird hub.
- Adapt schedule for after-school meetings and occasional evening or weekend recruitment events.
Requirements
- Registered Social Worker.
- Post-qualifying experience in children and family assessments, safeguarding, or fostering.
- Clear understanding of the Children Act 1989, Fostering Regulations 2011, and Fostering National Minimum Standards.
- Excellent communication skills to build rapport with children, foster carers, and families.
- Highly organised and proactive.
- Ability to take initiative to solve problems.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload under pressure.
- Personal flexibility and empathy.
- Enhanced Barred List DBS required.
