About the Role
The Videographer and Editor will create original content for Business Insider's flagship shows, including How Crime Works, Authorized Account, and The Pay Check. This role involves attending shoots, sourcing footage, editing, and overseeing post-production, collaborating with producers on pacing, visuals, sound, and graphics.
Responsibilities
- Edit Authorized Account, How Crime Works and The Pay Check episodes, while consistently meeting tight production deadlines.
- Oversee in-person shoots at the New York OLP studio, serving as the lead creative and technical eye on-site.
- Act as an archivist for the shows, sourcing high-quality B-roll from our licensed archive and fair use sources.
- Partner with the development team to establish the visual look and pacing for new series launches, creating custom graphic packages and assets as needed.
- Help source and test emerging AI tools to streamline the edit process and reduce turnaround times.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines.
- Experience in long-format interview shows, editing podcasts, or journalistic video production.
- Excellent storytelling judgment with creative ideas that elevate narrative structure, increase viewer engagement, and strengthen the quality and impact of journalism.
- Proven track record of working with archive sources or researching b-roll footage.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Firm commitment to accuracy, fairness, and journalistic standards.
Skills
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere and After Effects
- Experimenting with AI-powered production tools and workflows
