About the Role
The Quality Assurance Officer will support and embed effective quality assurance across Our Future Health, working closely with the Quality Assurance Manager and teams to ensure quality management processes are effective, coordinated, and continually improving. This role involves ownership of key day-to-day quality assurance activities, including document control, audit coordination, CAPAs, quality records, and reporting, contributing to the UK’s largest health research programme.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and continual improvement of Our Future Health’s management system and quality assurance processes.
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of operational quality assurance activities across the organisation.
- Own and coordinate document control, ensuring controlled documents are appropriately maintained, reviewed, approved, and accessible.
- Coordinate the planning, delivery, and follow-up of internal and external audits, assessments, and certification activities.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), monitoring progress and supporting their timely and effective resolution.
- Maintain quality records and assurance evidence to support governance activities and future accreditation requirements.
- Produce clear quality reports, analysis, and management information to support governance and organisational decision-making.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the organisation to embed effective quality management practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the implementation of new quality processes and assurance initiatives.
- Contribute to the continued development of the Assurance function through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and good practice.
Requirements
- Experience supporting quality assurance, quality management, governance, audit, or compliance activities within a complex organisation.
- Experience within healthcare, clinical, or research environments is particularly relevant.
- A good understanding of quality management principles, document control, and continual improvement approaches.
- Experience coordinating activities such as audits, document control, CAPAs, or quality improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with quality management standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 15189, ISO 13485, or ISO 27001, or comparable standards.
- Ability to analyse information and turn it into clear, useful reports and management information.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate effectively with different stakeholders.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative and pragmatic approach to working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with curiosity and an interest in continual improvement.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Atlassian Suite applications would also be useful.
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
- A quality or governance qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous but is not essential.
