About the Role
This two-year immersion program within the Equity investment team, commencing in Summer 2027, is designed to provide exposure to various strategies and teams, teach the fundamentals of equity research, and develop both soft and technical skills. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the investment process and may be considered for a permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Complete a two-year immersion within the Equity investment team.
- Gain exposure to various strategies and teams within the equities department.
- Learn how companies and capital markets drive the global economy.
- Learn the fundamentals of equity research, including quantitative financial analysis and qualitative due diligence.
- Work alongside industry professionals.
- Develop soft skills (e.g., presentation skills) and technical skills (e.g., modelling, Bloomberg).
- Obtain full sponsorship for the CFA qualification and receive study leave.
- Gain exposure to a variety of company management teams and general investment team meetings.
- Immediately contribute to the investment process.
- Be a valued member of the investment team.
- Understand regulatory obligations of the firm.
- Abide by regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for the role.
- Adhere to the provisions of the Investment Advisory Code of Ethics related to personal securities activities and other disclosure and certification requirements.
Requirements
- Must have graduated from an Undergraduate or Masters degree in 2026 or be graduating in 2027.
- Must be available to start full-time work from September 2027.
- A long-term interest in investing, financial markets, and business.
- Passionate about providing excellent client service.
- Intellectual curiosity and strong analytical reasoning.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Desire to work and succeed within a collaborative team.
- Highly numerate with great attention to detail.
- Open minded / curious and willing to ask questions.
- Previous finance-related internship/experience preferred.
- Knowledge of financial markets, financial markets function and the impact of economic figures and national/regional/global events on markets.
- Understanding of issues relating to market abuse and anti-money laundering.
