About the Role
On the Market Intelligence proprietary research team, you will uncover insights about markets and the broader economy through deep compliant fundamental research and applying data science and engineering techniques to alternative data sets. Analysts, data scientists, and engineers collaborate to produce compliant research and build tools that inform the firm’s investments.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret alternative data from multiple sources and develop subject-matter expertise on key themes and KPIs that drive markets.
- Produce research for internal consumption by investment professionals through written reports, verbal communication, data feeds, and visualizations.
- Interact directly with investment professionals to learn the macro investment process and help drive more informed investment decisions.
- Collaborate with proprietary research teams (Data Sourcing, Data Science, Data Engineering) and Compliance to source, evaluate, and draw value from data assets to produce actionable research.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree or advanced degree with demonstrated academic success.
- One to five years of prior macro/economics/investment research or consulting experience, including internships.
- Proficiency with technical coding/programming and ability to participate in a live technical screen (SQL, Python).
- Experience with modeling and analyzing time series data in macroeconomic or fundamental research for business, public policy, finance, engineering, applied sciences, or other quantitative fields.
- A passion for finance, research, and using data to solve problems.
- Comfort with analyzing novel data and explaining concepts to non-technical partners.
- Great organizational skills to handle a demanding workload, creativity, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to operate productively in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards.
