About the Role
The agency is embarking on a data modernization initiative to accelerate its data strategy. This initiative supports larger efforts to rebalance investments in public health and more equitably serve communities and populations. The DMI initiative will allow DOHMH to build up foundational technology capabilities within the Division of Information Technology, increasing capacity, knowledge, and experience with Azure cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist the PMO Director with the development of policies, metrics and templates for purposes of monitoring.
- Assist with all phases of the project development process.
- Work with Solution Directors, Project Managers and Product Managers to ensure project solicitations and product maintenance contracts are completed and renewed as needed, and project funding sources categorized and documented.
- Serve as a resource to Project Managers by ensuring project documentation is current and accurate.
- Generate project status reports on a regular basis on key performance indicators (KPIs), resource capacity, and project deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to better align the project process with the standards set forth by the PMO office.
- Develop criteria to identify and mitigate project risks and track risk resolution strategies.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working in a PMO office, preferably in a PMO Analyst role, including experience developing project management documentation, project data analysis, metrics and business/risk resolution strategies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to speak and write about technical issues for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, including being able to drive initiatives to effective resolution.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, assess resource needs, develop schedules, monitor and communicate status, and develop processes and procedures.
- Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence.
- Must reside in the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) by their confirmed start date.
- Expected to work non-business hours during emergencies.
