About the Role

The Manager, Coverage Strategy & Forms, Corporate Underwriting provides leadership and oversight for Commercial Insurance coverage design, wording governance, product implementation, and underwriting enablement. This role ensures products, forms, endorsements, and coverage offerings are competitive, clearly articulated, operationally effective, and aligned with business objectives. You will lead coverage development, wording governance, and implementation activities, supporting transformation and modernization efforts.

Responsibilities

Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Commercial Insurance products, forms, endorsements, manuscripts, and coverage frameworks.
Provide leadership and technical expertise in coverage design, wording interpretation, product governance, and product application.
Identify and implement product and coverage enhancements to improve customer value, underwriting effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Lead governance and approval processes for product, wording, and coverage changes.
Support the execution of product priorities and transformation initiatives, including systems modernization, integration, and future-state product capabilities.
Partner with Operations, Technology, Claims, Actuarial, and Underwriting teams to support the successful implementation of product and coverage changes.
Develop training, communications, and implementation resources to enable successful adoption of products, coverages, and underwriting frameworks.
Act as a trusted advisor on complex product, wording, and coverage questions, supporting consistency across Commercial Insurance portfolios.
Build strong internal and external relationships, representing Definity on industry initiatives and monitoring market, regulatory, and coverage trends.
Lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.

Requirements

University degree or college diploma in a related field.
Strong technical expertise in Commercial Insurance products, coverage design, underwriting operations, and policy wording development.
Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and change management activities.
Strong understanding of coverage governance, product implementation, and underwriting enablement.
Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to foster a high-performance culture that drives profitable growth through collaboration, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
Strong customer focus with exceptional verbal and written communication skills, supported by advanced computer proficiency and analytical acumen.
Experience supporting product modernization, systems implementations, or transformation initiatives is considered an asset.
Proven ability to build relationships, provide technical guidance, and support underwriting excellence across teams and business units.
Successful clearance of background checks (including criminal checks and leadership references).
