About the Role

This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the Portfolio Strategy, Research, Governance and Oversight team within Mackenzie Investments. You will work cross-functionally to develop a product database, automate reports, build a web server for self-serve insights, and create data pipelines. This role is ideal for students seeking to gain practical experience in data analysis, reporting, and technology within the investment management industry.

Responsibilities

Work with team members to build a product database for reporting, insights, and analysis.
Build and automate reports for team, division, and senior leadership use.
Develop a web server for self-serve insights, reports, and dashboards.
Construct semi-automated and fully automated data pipelines for scheduling and orchestration.
Participate in architecture discussions for new functionality development.
Address ad hoc data and analytics requests promptly.
Collaborate with associates across the team and division to service the business.

Requirements

Must be a registered student returning to school in 2027.
Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program related to finance and/or technology.
Must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program (January to April 2027).
Proficiency in Python (Jupyter, pandas, flask).
Proficiency in SQL.
Proficiency in Javascript (Reactjs).
Knowledge of financial math, statistics, or machine learning.
Understanding of financial instruments and the industry.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines.
Resourceful and creative in problem-solving through research and analysis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
