About the Role

The Research Coordinator serves as an assistant to the Principal Investigator, acting as a communication link between study sponsors, investigators, and institutional officials. This role is a resource for federal and local research regulations, coordinates contractual issues, and maintains communication throughout the study process.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely scheduling of potential clinical research patients.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain study binders for patients.
• Maintain inventory of study supplies, including lab kits, source document binders, and subject diaries.
• Prepare study-specific, visit-specific lab kits in advance of patient visits.
• Process and prepare laboratory specimens and requisitions.
• Ship laboratory specimens according to study guidelines.
• File study documents in patient source binders and site investigator file binders.
• Develop and maintain study-specific spreadsheets for PI for tracking study details.
• Call study patients to confirm upcoming study visits and remind them to return required materials.
• Unpack and inventory incoming study drugs and ensure proper storage temperature.
• Organize and maintain research storage areas and prepare completed study records for off-site storage.
• Work closely with Clinical RN and PI.
• Respond to laboratory queries.
• Secure signed/completed consents and paperwork for eligible study patients.
• Participate in regional hemophilia work groups via virtual and in-person meetings.
• Attend national hemophilia research/data conferences, both virtually and in person.
• Regularly update hemophilia databases per regional/national community of practice standards.
• Other duties as assigned as they relate to the patients/study.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of research experience is necessary.

Skills

• Working knowledge of good clinical practices and federal regulations regarding the conduct of research.
