About the Role

The Recruiter (Level 1) is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies to recruit and retain top healthcare professionals for the Icahn School of Medicine and the Icahn Medical Research Institute at Mount Sinai. This role serves as a liaison between Human Resources, Departments, Hiring Managers, and external clients to achieve staffing goals. The Recruiter will manage the hiring and selection process for designated departments, including roles such as research coordinators, scientists, and financial, administrative, clinical, and leadership positions.

Responsibilities

Support company and departmental business goals by meeting/exceeding individual placement objectives through independent sourcing, minimizing reliance on outside agencies.
Partner closely with Hiring Managers to understand staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies.
Manage relationships with internal and external sourcing resources to fill positions efficiently and cost-effectively.
Serve as the liaison between candidates and management throughout the interview and selection process.
Consult and advise hiring managers on the overall hiring process, job requisition details, and effective candidate assessment techniques.
Consistently update the applicant tracking system and hiring managers to ensure hiring requirements are met.
Identify viable client prospects from various sources including directories, contact lists, databases, leads, internet resources, and personal networking.
Place employment advertisements in various print media, approved internet sites, agencies, and schools.
Attend recruitment events such as career fairs, networking events, and open houses.
Facilitate the requisition process by reviewing Job Descriptions, funding sources, and position numbers for accuracy and timely posting.
Monitor, update, and review requisitions and applicant information in the applicant tracking database, including resumes, applications, and offer details.
Negotiate compensation packages, sign-on bonuses, and relocation expenses with hiring managers and the Compensation department.
Assist and follow up with the Senior Staffing Specialist regarding all facets of the recruitment process.
Oversee the Employment Coordinator to ensure the completion of the on-boarding process, including New Hire Physicals, Background Checks, and education verification.
Mentor and assist the Employment Coordinator in achieving professional success, development, and career goals.
Assist departments, employees, and management with various inquiries and concerns.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelors degree
2 years of recruiting/placement experience in the health care industry or equivalent combination of education and experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Must be on-site at the office located at 98th Street and Madison Avenue in New York City.
