About the Role
Develop and coach team members while independently working on applications within approved SDLC processes. Identify and recommend metrics to solve business needs and minimize risks through clean and resilient code. Review and approve pull requests, oversee change management, and design peer review processes. Coach others on code reviews, quality, and improvements. Author expert-level source code in at least one programming language and moderate proficiency in another, coaching on data structures and algorithms. Oversee source control management and merge code developments. Review testing methodology and code coverage, coaching on improvement areas. Drive adherence to patterns and practices for performance testing, resiliency, and optimization. Review and approve requirement plans, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and feasibility. Partner with other groups to suggest continuous process improvements. Contribute technical requirements for delivery and maintenance solutions. Communicate architecture, progress, and challenges to stakeholders. Contribute to application architectural design, engineering practices, and pattern changes. Present at architecture meetings and internal meetings. Author internal blog posts. Adhere to risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls. Identify risk-related issues for escalation. Promote diversity and reflect the M&T Bank brand. Maintain internal control standards and implement audit points and regulatory issues.
Responsibilities

- Write clean and resilient code
- Review and approve designs and proposals of pull requests
- Oversee the execution on the change management of the request
- Design process for peer review
- Coach others on code reviews, code quality, and improvements
- Author organized, clean, efficient, and secure source code at the expert level in a minimum of one programming language and moderate proficiency in a minimum of one other language
- Coach team members on appropriate data structure and algorithms
- Oversee the source control management inclusions of other team members
- Perform the merging of code developments into the production deployment path
- Review testing methodology and code coverage of team members
- Coach others on areas of opportunity in testing
- Drive implementation adherence with patterns and practices for performance testing, resiliency, and optimization
- Review and approve requirement plans on behalf of the team
- Ensure requirement completeness, accuracy, and feasibility
- Serve as key partner with other groups
- Suggest continuous process improvement spanning organizational boundaries
- Contribute technical requirements where appropriate
- Understand and effectively communicates architecture, progress, and challenges to business or technical stakeholders and teams
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to the team's application architectural design work, engineering practices and pattern changes
- Present at architecture peer group and architecture review board meetings
- Present team's work at internal meetings with other peers
- Author internal blog posts
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management

- Maintain M&T internal control standards
- Implement internal and external audit points and any issues raised by external regulators
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, or a related occupation
- Five (5) years of experience in Kofax Total Agility (KTA) or Tungsten Total Agility
- Five (5) years of experience in C#
- Five (5) years of experience in .NET
- Five (5) years of experience in Visual Studio
- Five (5) years of experience in SQL Server
- Five (5) years of experience in Object Orientated Programing Concepts (OOPS)
- Five (5) years of experience in Kofax Insight or Tungsten Insight Studio
- Five (5) years of experience in JQuery
- Five (5) years of experience in Python
