About the Role

Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new ABL opportunities through networking, referrals, and banker outreach.
- Lead client and prospect calls with commercial and corporate banking partners.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources.
- Create pitch books and executive summaries for client and prospect calls.
- Evaluate potential new transactions based on limited time and information.
- Lead diligence and research calls, focusing on key credit topics for initial deal assessment.
- Prepare in-depth credit screening memos for new and existing clients.
- Monitor transactions in the pipeline from prospecting through closing.
- Guide ABL and deal teams to meet transaction deadlines and client expectations.
- Work with underwriting and originations support staff to develop screening memos and credit packages.
- Maintain current pipeline in Salesforce by inputting calls and deal flow.
- Travel to designated markets to make pitches and develop internal and external networks.
Requirements
- In-depth understanding of asset-based loans and credit risk.
- Ability to quickly assess the strengths, weaknesses, and feasibility of a potential transaction.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients, prospects, and bankers.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to take independent initiative to develop networks and source transactions.
- Familiarity with a wide range of industries and collateral types.
- Familiarity with various capital structure components, including ABL, cash flow bank debt, direct lender, and capital markets loan products.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal credit partners with clear thinking and credibility.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a high sense of urgency and ability to handle competing priorities.
- Bring a "team-first" mindset to incorporating banking partners in origination activity and supporting the ABL team.
- 7+ years of experience in asset-based lending and commercial lending.
- Prior ABL origination and portfolio management experience strongly preferred.
- Formal Credit training program or equivalent work experience required.
