About the Role

Experts of operations, process, and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests. Teams in General Merchandise (GM) prioritize guest experience while blending completion of tasks that ensure product is available and easy to shop – replenishment, pricing and signing, setting, and maintaining the sales floor and the backroom. The GM teams also execute inbound, outbound, and fulfillment responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interaction.
• Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, merchandise set up and maintenance, pricing activities, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures (if certified).
• Learn and execute operational procedures, such as setting and organizing merchandise, managing product accuracy and stock levels, and maintaining sales floor areas.
• Follow all Target policies and safety procedures, adhere to role-specific guidelines, and help maintain a safe, compliant workplace by reporting and correcting hazards.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes (such as picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders to guests) and maintain compliance culture while executing those duties.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.

Requirements

• Be open to working a flexible work schedule with varying hours, days or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays and other peak shopping times).
• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others.
• Be capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
• Remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
