About the Role

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is seeking a full-time Foreman/Tank Builder to provide site supervision and leadership for construction projects. This role involves acting as the primary on-site contact, maintaining safety, quality, and productivity, and managing project scope and changes. The Foreman will lead by example in safety and quality, enhance field productivity, balance customer satisfaction with project profitability, and provide craft knowledge to the crew.

Responsibilities

• Provide site supervision and senior leadership for PTS construction projects.
• Act as the point of contact with customers, vendors, and subcontractors on site.
• Maintain Safety, Quality, and Productivity on the jobsite.
• Understand contract scope of work and identify field-initiated scope changes (change orders).
• Provide leadership regarding Safety and foster a Safety Culture within the crew.
• Provide leadership regarding Quality and eliminate rejected or sloppy work.
• Enhance field productivity, consistently performing projects under budget and on time.
• Balance customer satisfaction with project profitability.
• Provide craft knowledge and experience to the crew, with expertise in areas like welding, structural erection, tank repair, and new tank construction.
• Evaluate field employees, identify candidates for promotion, and provide guidance and training.
• Communicate employee evaluation information to Construction Managers and HR.
• Assist Construction Managers and HR in recruiting field workers.
• Ensure the care and maintenance of all tooling and equipment, and promptly off-rent equipment when no longer needed.
• Utilize experience and skills to identify opportunities for improvement of company practices and resources.
• Represent PTS in a professional and positive light to customers and employees.
• Provide a positive contribution to pre-construction planning efforts.
• Communicate effectively with support staff, including Design, Purchasing, Project Management, and Administration.
• Understand estimated manhours and scope on projects prior to job start and track progress weekly.
• Collaborate with Safety Specialist, Construction Administration, and HR to ensure employees have necessary training and certifications.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily time sheets, safety and quality audits, customer required paperwork, and equipment inspections.
• Advise Project Management of potential problems, work interferences, and schedule difficulties, and assist in resolving them.
• Provide complete, final project paperwork to the Design Group for the creation of the Final QC Book.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Willing to authorize background checks.
• No criminal convictions for dishonesty, sexual misconduct, violence, or acts of terrorism.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to authorize motor vehicle driving record checks.
• Willing to submit to pre-hire, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol testing.
