About the Role
The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. This role offers opportunities to develop skills in guest service, food and beverage business fundamentals, and merchandising.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests, smile, make eye contact, or wave.
- Initiate a warm, helpful interaction with guests.
- Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
- End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
- Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
- Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience.
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and full shopping experience, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
- Uphold and maintain the execution of Food & Beverage Standards.
- Execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, straightening merchandise, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing reserve product.
- Follow all food safety requirements.
- Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
- Work with vendors to set, maintain, and make planned changes to salesfloor merchandise displays and keep backroom space organized.
- Locate and identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process according to policies.
- Execute all federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
- Appropriately use and care for in-store and personal protective equipment.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times, comply with safety policies, and report hazards.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU), and Drive-up (DU).
- Perform other duties based on business needs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older (Bakery Only).
- Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
- Work both independently and with a team.
- Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders if needed.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
- Work in environments with refrigeration and freezer temperatures and conditions where common allergens may be handled or present.
- Work in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts.
