About the Role
Morning Brew Inc. is seeking a Supervising Producer to create long-form content for their flagship YouTube channel. This role involves shaping stories from scriptwriting through editing, overseeing film shoots, and contributing to video packaging. The ideal candidate is passionate about YouTube strategy, storytelling, and collaborative ideation, with a tone ranging from informative to comedic.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Video to vet story strength during the pitch approval process.
- Partner with producers on creating and executing outlines, scripts, and videos, focusing on story structure and platform readiness.
- Provide feedback on visuals and story during post-production with producers and editors.
- Discover and pitch potential story assignments to producers, aligning with the Morning Brew voice.
- Work on YouTube packaging with producers and the in-house graphics team.
- Build production timelines and deadlines for long-form projects.
Requirements
- Experience leading or working on a YouTube team with a strong growth and view performance record.
- Experience working with creators and producers.
- Understanding of YouTube analytics and their application to editorial decisions.
- Willingness to experiment and take risks.
- Strong understanding of business news and ability to find unique business angles.
- Player-coach attitude: a leader willing to assist in editing or field production.
- Prior experience writing and/or editing humorous content.
- DP background/Ability to shoot on FX3s.
