About the Role

This is a Provisional to Permanent position for current City employees in the 1053 Technology Analyst/Designer – Senior classification. The role oversees complex aspects of systems and services development and improvement, including needs analysis, system design, implementation, and user support.

Responsibilities

Identify opportunities for improving business processes through automation and assist in proposal preparation.
Analyze business and user needs, research and evaluate software, and assist in developing success criteria for digital products.
Determine service or system requirements, develop and document system designs, and write detailed design specifications.
Analyze the feasibility of and develop requirements for new systems and enhancements.
Implement and enhance software, including developing, testing, debugging, and deploying programs.
Provide technical support for digital products and services, troubleshoot system problems, and implement solutions.
Conduct system analysis and development/configuration for complex systems, document systems, and coordinate user training.
Interface with users to determine system needs, conduct research and usability testing, and collect feedback for improvements.
Prepare service requests for system changes, determine effort and cost, and prioritize requests.
Provide technical production support for systems and assist with set processing schedules and report production.
Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors, defining, assigning, and evaluating their work.
Determine database structures, normalize data, perform data conversion, and generate reports.
Determine security levels for systems to ensure data integrity and test database applications.

Requirements

Must be a Current Provisional Employee in Class 1053 who has worked at least 2,080 hours in Class 1053.
Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications requirement by the final filing date.

Experience Level

Three (3) years in the information systems field, including system analysis, business process design, development and implementation of business application solutions or IT project management.

Education Level

An associate degree in business administration, public administration, information systems, economics, finance, computer science, UX/UI design or a closely related field from an accredited college or university OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closely-related field].
One year of additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree.
Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.

Salary/Compensations

$134,082 - $168,688 Annually
