About the Role
Keeley Construction is seeking a Sr Estimator for its Heavy Civil Group in Austin, TX. Keeley Companies offers a career destination with advancement opportunities and a strong family culture.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for estimates and proposals including cost analysis, estimate coordination, and development/review of trade takeoffs and internal pricing.
- Oversee all capital bids before submission.
- Delegate new customer opportunities within the estimating team.
- Evaluate subcontract cost estimates and proposals, prepare/review self-perform estimates, and assemble the final estimate for the owner.
- Drive and maintain all National Opportunities Reporting.
- Perform productivity analysis of cost estimates, comparing scope, quantities, and cost data between projects.
- Negotiate with and engage in subcontract solicitation during the bidding process and maintain master subcontractor/vendor lists by trade.
- Compare and analyze competitive subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Exceed expectations with excellent customer service, operational excellence, and strategic insight.
- Maintain company quality standards with subcontractors and vendors in a high-volume bid environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience performing the primary responsibilities listed.
- Proficient with Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with estimating software.
- Demonstrated experience with heavy civil construction projects, specifically water/wastewater treatment plants and process piping.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, vendors, and clients.
- Exceptional time management and customer relation skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to assist with writing proposals and reports.
