About the Role
Arcadis is seeking a Junior Designer passionate about crafting innovative and inspiring living and hospitality environments. You will support and contribute to projects throughout the design process from concept to completion with supervision. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills for research, data collection, and analysis, enjoy working in a project environment, and have strong time management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate detailed design concepts, including functional requirements and inspirational approaches to meet project-design criteria.
- Support the team in the concept/schematic development of high-rise residential and hospitality projects.
- Oversee the interior design process and deliverables with input from the project Lead.
- Take direction from the Design Lead to establish project direction.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the interior design process and effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with supervision.
- Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization and hand-sketching.
- Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers.
- Develop an understanding of building codes and accessibility codes/standards.
- Select and specify interior design elements to suit project needs.
Requirements
- A professional degree in Interior Design or Architecture, or equivalent.
- 0-5 years of interiors focused project experience.
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- Experience working in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to collaborate with team members.
- Knowledge of finish materials, furniture, FF&E, and applicable reference standards.
- Ability to develop preliminary space plans and designs concepts.
- Ability to produce innovative design concepts that meet client and project needs, while respecting the project budget.
- Proactive in researching and learning design elements required for the project.
