About the Role
As a General Manager, you will lead the UK country team to grow the market, manage the country P&L, and achieve targets for net revenue and contribution margin. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to set market strategy and develop efficient tactical and operational plans to meet commercial goals, creating strong propositions for both customers and taskers.
Responsibilities
- P&L responsibility for the UK business
- Shape the UK strategy to deliver core commercial goals including revenue and contribution margin
- Accountable for both sides of the marketplace: generating demand as well as ensuring strong supply health and task fulfilment
- Responsible for value propositions on both sides of the marketplace
- Directly manage the UK team that covers marketing, partnerships and tasker operations
- Champion the UK business internally and collaborate across functions to identify and bring to life opportunities that drive UK market growth
- Own local go-to-market strategy, including the development of city-specific GTM strategies and localisation of Taskrabbit’s offering as relevant
- Drive local marketing ideas, initiatives, and channels to increase brand awareness, in partnership with the global marketing team
- Identify and pursue potential external partners to help grow the UK business, in collaboration with the global partnerships team
Requirements
- 8-10+ years of experience in driving commercial growth of a business
- Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams, capable of overseeing multiple people across different functions and levels of seniority
- Comfortable working heavily with data, and operating at a fast pace in an entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, and comfortable presenting to large groups regularly
- An exceptional ability to balance creative thinking with strong business judgment and analytical skills
- Problem-solving abilities in both data-rich and data-poor environments; ability to both delve into the details and engage meaningfully on higher-level strategy
- A natural inclination to take initiative and ownership, with the ability to independently navigate ambiguous situations and balance multiple priorities
- Role includes some travel within the UK and occasional travel to the US
