About the Role

The Social Work Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision, development, and training of social work staff at The Friedman, coordinating intake, case management, and clinical services to address the unique challenges of shared living. This role involves collaborating with Property Management to ensure services align with best practices and the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate intake process from applicant interview through admission and assessment of service needs and development of care plan.
  • Facilitate the roommate selection process with property management when vacancies occur.
  • Provide clinical supervision of social work staff, overseeing the delivery of appropriate clinical case management services.
  • Coordinate training and development of social work staff to address resident needs.
  • Assist social work staff in identifying and utilizing community-based resources.
  • Meet regularly with staff to review specific support needs of individual residents and the general needs of the residential community.
  • Assist the Director in managing HRA and OTDA Supportive Housing contracts, including ongoing assessment and service delivery consistent with funding requirements and reporting.
  • Prepare for annual HASA audits and maintain compliance with HASA and SRO Support Service funding source requirements.
  • Coordinate HASA case conferences to address problems with HASA contracted residents.
  • Perform regular and periodic evaluations and review social service staff documentation.
  • Manage clinical cases for residents receiving HRA HASA Supportive Housing Services, as well as low-income working or disabled residents with significant mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
  • Assist clients in maintaining medical, emotional, and housing stability through counseling interventions and appropriate referrals.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of face-to-face client contacts.
  • Provide crisis intervention counseling or other short-term counseling to low-income working residents and their families.
  • Provide preliminary intervention/mediation for tenants experiencing roommate disputes and assess the need for outside mediation.
  • Maintain confidential, up-to-date records, logs, release forms, and charts for each resident.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all information.
  • Complete and submit all written work within assigned timeframes.

Requirements

  • LCSW with 2-3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience in housing and support services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively and efficiently with colleagues.
  • Requires good decision-making skills and the ability to identify and facilitate necessary programmatic change.
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented.
  • Knowledge of entitlements, seniors, HIV/AIDS, and mental health.
