Responsibilities
- Protect company’s property, buildings, grounds, staff, patients, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
- Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
- Apprehend criminals and evict violators.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Report in detail any suspicious incidents.
- Patrol randomly or regularly buildings, grounds, and perimeter.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances, vehicle gates, and parking lots.
- Transport employees and/or patients as needed.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned within the scope of responsibility for the position.
Requirements
- Valid and Active NYS Security Guard License
- NYS Driver's License with clean driving record
- High School or Equivalency Diploma
- Speak, read, and write English
- Law enforcement background (preferred)
- Experience in psychiatric or general healthcare facility (preferred)
Skills
- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position
- Trained security officer with diploma
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation
- Integrity and professionalism
