About the Role
Fitch Ratings is seeking an Analyst to join its Structured Credit Alternative Products group. The individual will focus on new transaction proposals that incorporate securitization principals of various types of rated note feeders, synthetic risk transfers, structured credit loan facilities, CLO lite structures, and other private credit transactions backed by debt. This role offers an opportunity to be a lead coverage analyst at a global rating agency and contribute to the development of rating criteria.
Responsibilities
- Analyze critical credit, legal, and structural elements of transaction proposals
- Act as primary or secondary analyst for transaction ratings in a highly dynamic sector
- Form analytical views and recommendations
- Present views to rating committees
- Defend credit views in discussions with issuers and investors
- Contribute to the development of rating criteria
- Form recommendations to bolster analysis and iteratively improve existing frameworks
- Lead and/or support sector trend research reports and projects
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in the financial industry, preferably but not necessarily related to Structured Credit, Structured Finance, Fund Finance or Corporate Direct Lending
- Strong analytical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and attention to detail
- High level of personal responsibility, initiative, and self-management
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to convey complex subjects clearly and concisely
- Open-mindedness and ability to understand alternative viewpoints
- Demonstrated competency in credit analysis
- Proficiency with rating agency methodologies and experience assessing credit risk
- Must take every precaution to avoid conflicts of interest or any appearance of a conflict of interest
- Will be asked to declare any securities holdings and other potential conflicts prior to commencing employment
- May be asked to divest holdings that may conflict with work responsibilities
