About the Role
Chelsea Piers is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and experienced customer service associate to join the Pro Shop team at Chelsea Piers Sky Rink. In this role, you'll be the go-to resource for skaters of all levels, from first-timers to competitive athletes, helping them find the right gear and keeping their equipment in top shape.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests and drive Pro Shop sales
- Perform cash handling and drawer reconciliation
- Receive, stock, and inventory items
- Enhance the overall guest experience while supporting and representing Chelsea Piers
- Assist guests with miscellaneous service needs, including equipment and skate fittings
- Sharpen skates using proper safety gear including protective eye wear
- Keep work spaces clean and clear
- Report any slippage/theft from stock to the Pro Shop Director or Sky Rink General Manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Interest or background in hockey, figure skating, or fitness
- Outgoing, customer-focused, and hard-working
- Eager to learn and take initiative
- Punctual, professional, and reliable with scheduling
- Collaborative team player
- Able to sit or stand for 2+ hours at a time
Skills
- Retail or customer service experience
- Selling and fitting hockey and figure skating equipment
- Sharpening or repairing hockey or figure skates
- Handling cash and following cash procedures
- Organized and detail-oriented
