About the Role

As our Housing Manager, you will be responsible for the performance of the housing officer department and ensuring our weekly property, occupancy and welfare inspections are conducted efficiently and to high standards. You will lead and manage a team of housing officers that manage a property portfolio across London.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of a team of 15 plus housing officers across the S&P portfolio and an office-based administrator.
  • Support housing officers on site to effectively resolve complex situations, escalating to senior management if required (e.g., ASB, tenant complaints, neighbour complaints, high-risk tenants, inspections).
  • Implement processes, review the structure of the team, and identify areas and trends that lead to an increased level of service.
  • Regularly audit housing officer inspections and provide feedback.
  • Allocate patches to housing officers.
  • Ensure inspection reports meet S&P standards.
  • Provide general support, training, and mentoring to housing officers.
  • Conduct regular reviews and one-to-one meetings with the team.
  • Minimize void periods and maximize management service by liaising with other key departments.
  • Carry out monthly one-to-one meetings with housing officers.
  • Oversee inspections.
  • Ensure the team uses the CRM system Salesforce appropriately and maintains good computer housekeeping practices regarding backup procedures and filing of reports and documents.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and experience working in temporary and emergency accommodation.
  • Experience managing vulnerable individuals and HMO properties.
  • Knowledge of property-related development, standards, social housing, and planning regulation.
  • Experience working with or for a local authority, housing association, or housing provider.
  • Experience in managing a large team.
  • Genuine desire to help the vulnerable.
  • Ability to negotiate with consultants, council officers, and external agencies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Full clean UK Driver's license.
  • DBS / Police checked.
