About the Role
Provide quality cleanliness oversight to assigned building(s).
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including floor care, bathroom cleaning, trash and recycling removal, window and wall wiping, and stairway cleaning.
- Perform minor repairs and building maintenance.
- Responsible for exterior snow and ice removal and grounds upkeep, including sidewalk maintenance and landscaping.
- Assist staff with special events by setting up chairs and tables and ensuring the area is clean and safe.
- Maintain building maintenance tools and machinery.
- Order cleaning supplies, paper supplies, lightbulbs, and garbage bags, and maintain biweekly inventory if no superintendent is present.
- Assist in moving and storing program supplies, furniture, and equipment.
- Comply with all SUS Employee Policies, Procedures and Protocols and SUS Cooperate Compliance Policies.
- Willing to assist during facility emergencies.
- Wear and maintain a clean and presentable SUS maintenance uniform.
- Complete other tasks assigned by Director or Superintendent.
- Attend staff meetings, group supervision, and trainings.
- Assist with apartment turnover, including plastering, sanding, painting, and transporting residents and property.
- Assist Super with building maintenance.
Requirements
- At least one year of maintenance & cleaning experience in a large residential or Program setting.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
- Minimum one year experience working with mentally ill individuals within a residential or scatter-site program.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum one year experience as a repair-person.
- Valid NY State Driver’s License.

- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred
- Experience working within a Supportive Housing setting preferred
