About the Role
The Maintenance Specialist ensures the proper maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Assists in developing consumer’s ability to maintain individual residents on basic cleaning and safety.
Responsibilities
- Establish and execute a formalized preventative maintenance schedule for the facility, including painting, plastering, plumbing, changing locks, changing lighting fixtures, and stripping and waxing floors.
- Submit requisitions for necessary maintenance/repair supplies to the Program Director weekly and control the inventory of supplies.
- Complete the monthly physical plant and fire safety audit of the facility.
- Participate in moving clients in and out of the facility.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance/mileage records prior to and upon returning from trips.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Minimum one year experience as a repair-person.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Minimum one year experience working with mentally ill individuals within a residential or scatter-site program.
- Experience with air conditioner installation, lock and cylinder changes, and smoke detector installation.
