About the Role

As a Lead/Managing Consultant – BFSI Regulatory & Compliance, you will lead challenging client projects from analysis to implementation, ensuring regulatory requirements are translated into robust processes, controls, and solutions. You will work at the intersection of business, compliance, risk, IT, and management, taking early responsibility for projects, workstreams, and teams while developing towards strategic client and business development.

Responsibilities

Analyze regulatory requirements, assess their impact on organization, processes, data, and technology, and develop gap assessments, readiness checks, target states, and implementation roadmaps.
Independently manage projects, sub-projects, or central workstreams in regulatory and compliance transformations, coordinating tasks, deadlines, budgets, risks, and dependencies, and ensuring reliable communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Develop operating models, governance structures, processes, control frameworks, and functional concepts in collaboration with clients, ensuring regulatory requirements are effectively and sustainably embedded in the organization.
Plan and moderate management interviews, functional workshops, and decision-making formats, preparing complex issues in a structured and audience-appropriate manner, and aligning diverse interests towards viable decisions.
Combine functional and technological perspectives to develop solutions using modern GRC platforms, data and reporting solutions, cloud technologies, automation, RegTech, and GenAI-based approaches.
Support the development of new services and offerings, contribute project experience to reusable methods and assets, and actively participate in proposals, presentations, and client meetings, gradually taking on responsibility for selected topics and opportunities.
Provide technical leadership for small and medium-sized consulting teams, support colleagues' development, and ensure high quality of work results through structured knowledge management and lessons learned to strengthen the Regulatory & Compliance community.

Requirements

Several years of relevant professional experience in consulting, a financial services provider, or a comparable transformation function, with experience in independently advising clients and taking responsibility for projects or functional work packages.
In-depth knowledge in at least one relevant topic area (e.g., DORA and ICT Risk, AML/KYC, Financial Crime, MaRisk/BAIT, CRR III/Basel IV, MiCAR, EU AI Act, Risk & Controls, Compliance Management, or Solvency II) and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational measures.
Experience in structuring, managing, and successfully implementing projects or workstreams, including project planning, status and risk management, stakeholder communication, and coordination of interdisciplinary teams.
Good understanding of GRC systems, data and cloud architectures, reporting, automation, and digital compliance solutions, with the ability to contextualize technological possibilities and translate them into actionable solutions with IT and architecture teams.
Analytical, binding, and solution-oriented work style, with strong moderation, structured storytelling, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to lead teams at eye level, provide direction, and take responsibility for collective results.
Completed university degree (e.g., in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Law, Computer Science, or a comparable field) or equivalent qualification.
Very good German and English language skills.
Required mobility for client projects in the DACH region.
