About the Role
Homesense is seeking individuals to maintain a clean and organized store environment with a focus on floor care. This role involves operating cleaning equipment, adhering to operational and loss prevention standards, and supporting various store areas as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate the scrubber and buffer
- Perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming
- Dust surfaces and spot clean glass and windows
- Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards
- Cross-train to work in multiple areas of the store
- Model excellent customer experience practices
- Support and embody a positive store culture
- Maintain all floor care cleanliness standards
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store
- Adhere to all company policies concerning Health and Safety
- Support and respond to all Front End coverage needs
- Adhere to and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards
- Initiate and participate in store recovery
- Adhere to all operational and loss prevention controls
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates
- Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to work a flexible schedule
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and run floor buffer and scrubber
- Capable of multi-tasking
- Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
- Strong communication skills: verbal and written
- Listens and responds appropriately
- Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
- Standout colleague, working effectively with peers and supervisors
- Retail customer experience preferred
