About the Role
This role focuses on strategic analysis, peer review, and tool development to support planning, pricing, and risk assessment for financial outcomes. It provides crucial expertise and technical support for the company's financially sound operations.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to and support Medicare strategic initiatives and planning
- Own tools and/or processes, supporting related internal users’ needs
- Review and certify MA bids if eligible for American Academy of Actuaries membership
- Train and teach direct report(s) technical skills and about the Medicare program
- Apply knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and principles of finance and business to calculate financial outcomes
- Develop, assess, and/or negotiate capitation or premium rates with State, Federal, and/or private agencies
- Oversee health plan experience, identify trends, and recommend improvements
- Research and identify new business opportunities
- Research and analyze the impact from legislative changes
- Present results (pricing, risks, opportunities) to internal business partners
- Develop actionable recommendations to management relative to analysis
- Lead cross-functional teams to address key issues facing the organization
- Recommend changes in area(s) policy and procedure
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Comply with all policies and standards
Requirements
- 6+ years of actuarial experience
- Strategic, innovative thinkers
- Healthcare and Medicare Advantage actuarial experience
- Cost trend analysis experience
- Bid development experience
- Actuarial tool development experience
- Strong technical skills
- Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to enhance actuarial analysis and decision-making
- Leads 2-4 direct reports
- Offers significant visibility across the organization

- Advanced Excel (e.g., arrays, PivotTables, VBA, and queries)
- SQL
- SAS

- $134,600.00 - $249,000.00 per year
