About the Role
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) and Planned Parenthood Action Fund (PPAF) seek a visionary and strategic Director of Video Production to provide overarching video strategy and creative visioning for the organizations. This role involves ideating and producing engaging videos that further organizational and campaign goals, executing distribution strategies, and leading a team of video producers.
Responsibilities
- Provide overarching video strategy and creative visioning for PPFA and PPAF.
- Ideate and produce on-brand, bold, engaging videos that further organizational and campaign goals.
- Execute video distribution strategies in collaboration with content teams and external partners.
- Lead, inspire, and provide thought partnership to a team of video producers.
- Encourage the professional development of the internal video team.
- Serve as a go-to thought partner for video for leaders across PPFA and PPAF.
- Maintain a comprehensive view of all team video work.
- Oversee larger scaled projects, working directly with production companies and internal producers.
- Direct short- and long-form video content for various platforms.
- Champion the brand while navigating the needs of a complex federation.
- Anticipate organizational needs and prepare the team for long-term success.
- Articulate video strategy and evangelize Video team work to support initiatives and campaigns.
- Collaborate with Editorial, Creative, and Marketing teams to develop concepts and storytelling.
- Provide thought partnership through video to the National Director of Creative + Video.
- Manage conflicting priorities and limited bandwidth for multiple projects.
- Collaborate across divisions, functions, and geographies.
- Find cost-saving opportunities in vendor budgets and proposals.
- Develop resourcing plans for video across workstreams and project teams.
- Ensure video outputs are strategically sound, responsibly produced, and within brand guidelines.
- Manage team capacity and output for rapid response moments.
- Lead on branded electoral video content during election cycles.
- Pitch video concepts to internal clients and facilitate feedback sessions.
- Build and maintain a repository of production partners.
- Respond thoughtfully to strategic shifts and stakeholder feedback.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends in the video industry.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in a video leadership role.
- 7+ years managing a production team.
- Experience managing and inspiring video/production teams.
- Extensive experience creating beautiful treatments and telling stories within brand guidelines.
- Detailed and organized thinker.
- Ability to lead on ethical production standards, including trauma-informed interviewing protocols.
- Strong portfolio of video work across media with a digital engagement focus.
- Agency and/or non-profit federated model experience is a strong plus.
- Travel up to 25% domestic.
