About the Role
This position assists individuals and/or their families with implementing self-direction budgets, ensuring timely payments and compliance with regulations. The role also manages housing subsidies through OPWDD.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals and/or their families with implementing self-direction budgets.
- Attend meetings to ensure payments are made according to budget.
- Ensure quality and Medicaid Compliance standards are met as employer of record.
- Manage housing subsidies through OPWDD.
- Serve as a member of the Circle of Support (COS) for assigned caseload.
- Provide training and support to persons supported and COS to manage self-directed services.
- Participate in annual and/or semi-annual Life Plan meetings.
- Manage compliance related documents for individuals receiving services.
- Maintain documentation standards in electronic health records systems.
- Assist individuals with managing their staff's job assignment, wage/status, and onboarding.
- Perform quarterly check-in calls to ensure satisfaction with services.
- Monitor budget activity to ensure expenses are within the Personal Resource Account (PRA) and meet OPWDD regulations.
- Remain compliant with all regulations and guidance associated with self-directed services.
- Report incidents or compliance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Consult with Program Managers/Supervisors to ensure consistency of services.
- Perform other duties assigned by Self-Direction Supervisor/designee.
- Ensure housing payments and billing meet Federal, State and local regulations.
- Engage in continuous learning and stay up-to-date on changing housing regulations.
- Handle correspondence and collaboration with people supported, vendors, and support team members.
- Assist in maintaining and tracking all documents needed for individuals to receive their housing subsidy.
- Complete and submit monthly Housing report and confirmation of payments.
- Complete and submit monthly housing administrative billing per ADM.
- Complete in-person inspections of individuals' homes/apartments for Quality Assurance checklist.
- Participate in various EPI committees.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters.
- Complete specific company required trainings as mandated by OPWDD.
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License.
- A vehicle is required for business travel.
- Mature interpersonal/professional skills to effectively collaborate, resolve issues and maintain confidentiality.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with all employees & self-hired staff within various levels of the organization.
- Strong numerical comprehension.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, and diplomacy during difficult and/or stressful situations.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and customer requests while meeting deadlines.
- Must be able to talk, hear, stand, stoop, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
- May have to twist, bend, use hand to finger, stretch with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
- May be exposed to strong odors from time to time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to changing weather conditions will occur.
