About the Role
Summit Handling Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Equipment Technician to service various types of equipment at their state-of-the-art facility in Commack. This position requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspection and service on various configurations of equipment.
- Ensure forklift is functioning smoothly and is safe for operating.
- Interact with operators to identify equipment malfunctions.
- Test operate machinery to detect and repair issues.
- Maintain a record of service cycles and part changes.
- Follow all industry safety norms.
- Place requisitions for spare parts.
- Ensure proper handling of all repair tools and testing equipment.
- Follow all assigned orders and tasks.
- Analyze and test equipment for proper performance and compliance with specifications and safety requirements.
- Inspect and diagnose equipment faults and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and programs.
- Determine the cause of failure and take appropriate steps to prevent future occurrences using OEM manuals and online resources.
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine and scheduled planned maintenance services.
- Maintain equipment service records, identifying and correcting defects or problems.
- Complete required paperwork, including work orders and warranty documents, accurately and timely.
- Professionally represent the company to customers.
- Plan work using procedures, technical manuals, and experience to ensure timely and accurate repair of machinery or equipment.
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good history.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
- Must own hand tools.
- Meet quality and productivity standards.

Experience Level

Salary/Compensations
- $20 - $44 per hour
- $41,600—$91,520 USD
