About the Role
The New York Foundling supports children and families navigating foster care, struggling families, individuals with developmental disabilities, and access to health services. This role focuses on providing clinical treatment and case management within a structured model, requiring collaboration with various stakeholders and extensive documentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned caseload and provide coverage for peer's caseload as needed.
- Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with the assigned model.
- Conduct assessments including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and individualized treatment planning.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts.
- Participate in all model training, supervision, consultation activities, and staff meetings.
- Build relationships with community stakeholders (e.g., child protection services, Guardians ad Litem, judges, schools).
- Manage extensive documentation requirements to comply with mandates from agency, ACS, and other stakeholders.
- Timely documentation of contacts and case progress in agency electronic health records and other systems.
- Adopt a strength-focused approach with families, stakeholders, and within the treatment team.
- Accompany families/clients to psychiatric appointments and other community needs appointments.
- Attend weekly supervision and consultation and on-call meetings.
- Manage extensive travel requirements.
- Provide 24/7 coverage during the week and participate in a weekend on-call rotational schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to The Foundling’s BHAG, mission, vision, and values.
- Adhere to The Foundling’s employee policies, Code of Conduct, and applicable rules, laws, regulations, or bargaining agreements.
- Engage with support departments for hiring, performance management, investigation, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions.
- Provide regular supervision and performance evaluation of direct reports.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related subject field.
- Master’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution or Credential Evaluation for a non-U.S. educational institution.
